In Turtle Class we love learning and exploring the world around us!
The children love to engage in a range of activities, with bucket and TACPAC being clear favourites for everyone! We are also working really hard on increasing communication. The class use a range of different communication supports including PECS and aided language boards to help express their wants and needs to those around them!
A typical day in Turtle Class starts with a Sensory Calendar group to help us understand the day ahead. It has been wonderful to see the class develop anticipation as part of this routine! We then take part in lots of personalised and fun learning before spending some time over dinner working on our independent eating skills and building relationships through play outside. After dinner time we take part in a singing group and practise brushing our teeth too before engaging with fun and hands on Topic learning. So far, we have enjoyed 'Time to Rhyme' and 'E-I-E-I-O' as our topics.
This term we have even had the opportunity to visit Staunton Farm each week and develop our independent skills in the community as well as look at all the different animals!
Every day in Turtle Class is full of fun and we can't wait to see what we learn next!
