Cliffdale Primary School

Why we teach RE:

At Cliffdale, we value our diverse community which is made up of wide range of religions and beliefs. Our aim is to allow our children to explore their own similarities and differences by providing regular opportunities for them to explore different religions, communicate their own beliefs. This will enable them to relate these experiences to their owns lives, the lives of there friends and peers and the wider communities surrounding them.

How we teach RE:

At Cliffdale participate in 4 specifically designed RE Days which are spread across the school year aligning with key festival dates. On these days the children learn about different religious beliefs whilst exploring the associated religious festival. The 4 festivals we are currently focussing on are:

  • Eid/Ramadan
  • Diwali,
  • Advent
  • Shavuot

RE Days which are specifically designed to suit the needs and interests of the children at Cliffdale across the school. Children engage in a range of carefully planned activities including:

  • Bucket time
