Our Felix and Flo area is in the small group corner, where the children work on building relationships. They are encouraged to join in with engaging activities in pairs, which helps them to learn to share their space and resources with friends. The classes engagement area consists of a tuff tray which is set up with a range of sensory resources which is different every day.
The 1:1 bay is where the children need to use their resilience. Here they are learning new skills, such as counting, reading, matching, building and much more. The children in the class enjoy listening to different sounds and are starting to match sound buttons to the objects, which supports their communication skills. The class independence area is where the children can look at the days of the week book. They work on finding the day and what number the day is. All in all, it is always a busy, fun packed day in Orangutan class.
