How we teach computing
We deliver the computing curriculum through an integrated curriculum, where by Computing supports all subjects we teach. There are 5 clear strands to the curriculum:
- Programming
- Technology in Our Lives
- Multimedia
- E-Safety
- Handling Data
Children have access to a wide range of equipment and resources to support their learning.
What difference it makes
Our main aim for the computing curriculum at Cliffdale is for children to transfer their knowledge and have the confidence to implement these skills in everyday situation. We want them to be able to:
- Engage safely and creatively with a variety of technology and applications
- Develop confidence and become independent learners
- Plan, design, create, program and evaluate information
- Make links to the application of computing in real life situation
Our approach to the curriculum, results in children having full access to a breath and balance curriculum to develop their own knowledge and understanding the computing world in which we live in.
