Wet Wheels Adventure
On Tuesday 9th May Rhino Class were given the wonderful opportunity by Wet Wheels to go out on their boat around the Solent. All the children arrived in school very excited and eager to get on the bus. We travelled to Gunwharf Quays and met the skipper and the crew at the marina. We walked down the jetty, put on our lifejackets and listened to the safety instructions from the skipper. We left Gunwharf Quays and travelled across to Gosport and saw the submarine, HMS Alliance, the harbour police and the Royal Marines patrol boat.
We then took the boat out into the Solent and absolutely loved it when we went fast and reached 44 knots! We all had a chance to drive the boat and listened very carefully to the skipper to ensure we didn’t collide with any other boats! We were shown where the Mary Rose sank and looked in detail at the seabed on the chart.
Joe was particularly interested when looking at the sea bed. Preston and Jay enjoyed going fast and around in circles to create huge waves! We all agreed that Naasif was the best driver as he kept exactly to speed! Benny really enjoyed putting on the captain’s hat and steering the boat, pretending that he was the captain!
We all (including staff!) had an amazing trip and can’t wait to go back out on the water again. Thanks Wet Wheels!
