Sports day

A fantastic day was had by all at this year’s sports day, with fun and laughter in the sunshine. The morning began with welcoming our families to the field, ready for a day of sporting activities.

A fantastic day was had by all at this year’s sports day, with fun and laughter in the sunshine. The morning began with welcoming our families to the field, ready for a day of sporting activities.

Throughout the morning, classes participated in a circuit of skills based or competitive tasks that included archery, water shootout, javelin and sensory treasure hunts. Each pupil competed for team points by being the fastest or the competitor with the greatest team spirit, cheering each other on. These activities were followed by a picnic lunch on the field shared with our families. Refreshed and ready for an afternoon of track events.

Every pupil gets the opportunity to compete in a number of track events during the afternoon. They are very popular and include the traditional races such as sack race, three legged race and the egg and spoon race. One of the highlights included the family races where brothers and sisters race together, Mums and Dads run too with lots of frantic cheering and laughter as families support each other over the finish line. Following all of the excitement everyone appreciated the ice lollies, as the final team points were added up. The final count saw the Yellow Team as this year’s sports day champions!

A really big well done to all of the pupils and their families for giving their very best efforts to a fabulous sports day.
