Everyone enjoyed learning about the Jewish festival of Shavuot for our RE day.
Lots of the classes enjoyed tasting some traditional foods including dates, olives and pitta bread. The children in Lion class were particularly brave and it was lovely to see Alex saying that he ‘liked’ some of the food!
In the forest Racoon class acted out the story of Shavuot by looking for mountains to climb. Freddie and TJ were very brave and were able to climb up very high by themselves.
Tiger class, Gorilla class and Elephant class all worked hard following instructions to make and decorate salt dough candle holders.
In Zebra class the children made models of Mount Sinai and showed off their scissor skills by cutting out strings of people.
Overall it was a lovely day full of colour, celebration and lovely food to try!
