Instead of going to the Music Room for their lesson on 6th June 2018, Elephant Class had a ride in one of the school minibuses to Portsmouth’s New Theatre Royal.

After sensibly waiting in their theatre seats, the stage curtains opened and the Royal Marines Band’s shiny musical instruments could be seen and heard!  The pupils thought it was wonderful – there were saxophones, drums, oboes, trombones and many many more.

Jack also spotted that there was a conductor at the front of band.  But for some strange reason the conductor walked off stage and so the band began to sound awful!  No problem…  Vivi was asked if she’d like to be the conductor together with a new friend from a different school!  Vivi held the conducting baton and led the band!  They sounded amazing!

What a super Music lesson.  The pupils hope they can go to watch the band playing in a theatre again one day!
