We had a fantastic assembly today all about how to help look after our planet. The children were really involved… lots of them had great ideas about what we can do to help – like saving water.
Gorilla class have been busy learning all about recycling. They began the assembly telling us what things we can recycle instead of throwing things away.
Everyone was very good at remembering what can go in a recycling bin. Gorilla class also told us how important it is not to leave litter lying around – as this can harm animals and sea creatures.
Elephant class had a great idea – to turn our rubbish into something we actually want! They were delighted to show off their recycled cars, parading around the hall to the formula one racing music!
Boom club also performed for us – but not using ‘ordinary’ instruments… They made fantastic beats and rhythms using old rubbish, brushes and bins! It was brilliant and everyone really enjoyed the show.
Finally, we looked at some photos of our beautiful planet and listened to some calm music. Some of us helped to create a wonderful picture of a boat at sea, using rubbish from around the school.
