In MFL this term Upper School have been learning the names of different colours in Italian!

Zebra class have enjoyed our MFL Italian days. We have practised hearing and saying the words for the colours while making a Cliffdale star; we also very carefully painted rainbows, selecting the colour paint from the Italian words. We also used Italian in our PE lesson; we used equipment to climb (scalata), slide (diapositiva), walk (camminare), push (spingere), jump (saltare), and drive (guidare).  It has been a very busy two days!

Rhino Class have thoroughly enjoyed our Italian day. We started by working as a team to create the Italian flag. We then recapped our previous knowledge of hello, goodbye, please and thank you in Italian. We then used a range of items to recreate the Cliffdale Star and learning the colours in Italian. We then went on a colour hunt in the garden and collected a range of items while practising our Italian.

Lion Class had lots of fun learning the names of six colours in Italian: red (rosso), yellow (giallo), green (verde), pink (rosa), blue (blu), and purple (viola).  We went to the forest to look for objects that matched the 6 colours we were learning about. Back at school, we created the Cliffdale star with paints different materials and fabric whilst practicing our new Italian words. We made a large pasta back with foods to match the 6 colours and looked for coloured objects around school. We could only collect the objects if we communicated the correct colour to an adult!

Gorilla Class used Rainbow Bear by Michael Morpurgo to learn about colours in Italian. After two days three children in Gorilla Class could remember the name of 7 colours!!! Well done Mohammed, Mazin and Keeleigh! Gorilla Class also made fruit salad, remembering to say what colour the fruit was and of course made Pizza! The class pretended to travel to Italy on the aeroplane – this was such fun! Gorilla Class love role playing and we were even served juice and biscuits on the aeroplane by an air hostess! Oh, we needed our passports to fly!

Fantastico!
