On Friday 21st September it was the International Day of Peace.
All of Cliffdale joined together to celebrate and practise being peaceful during assembly.
We started by joining in activities that made us feel peaceful, like blowing bubbles, watching liquid toys, reading and playing instruments.
Afterwards some of the children had a go at relaxing yoga moves, while the other children watched peaceful pictures of the countryside and listened to relaxing music.
Dimming the lights in the hall made us feel even more peaceful. Everybody enjoyed holding an electric tea-light and watching the flame flicker.
We finished our assembly by holding hands and thinking about being peaceful together, wishing peace for all our friends in different countries in the world. The choir made a huge circle and sang a song of unity. It was a very special moment with every child joining in and lots of staff in tears!
