This week the Early Years department hosted their first Stay and Play sessions. The hall was filled with a range of Christmas activities for both children and their families to engage with. These activities included decorating a Christmas cake, making a tree decoration, creating Christmas shapes in flour, catching a snowball, knocking the elf of the shelf, festive dressing up and a small world winter scene to interact with.
The session was a great success with amazing feedback from families commenting how they loved spending time with their child in school and witnessing all the different activities that might engage them. Families also commented on how nice it was to play alongside other children and get to know other families more. Everyone left with a bag full of the crafts that they had created throughout the session.
Both staff and families agree that Stay and Play should definitely be done again and are all looking forward to the next sessions in the Spring term.
