Christmas Fayre

Christmas Fayre

Almost 300 excited and happy people came through the front doors today to our Christmas Fayre! Of course everyone was excited to see Father Christmas in his amazing grotto; over 100 children went to see him and tell him what they’d like on Christmas day!

Almost 300 excited and happy people came through the front doors today to our Christmas Fayre!  Of course everyone was excited to see Father Christmas in his amazing grotto; over 100 children went to see him and tell him what they’d like on Christmas day!

There was lots of fun for everyone at the fayre.  Lots of children had a go at the ‘Pot Luck’ in the snow, throwing ‘Presents down the Chimney’, ‘Penguin Skittles’, ‘Deal or no Deal’ and ‘Olaf’s Snowballs’!  There was also Christmas face painting to have done, reindeer food to make and the selfie booth!

Of course there were attractions for the grown-ups too!  The ever popular chocolate and bottle tombolas were busy the whole time and the ‘Big Raffle’ was non-stop with people buying tickets in the hope of winning one of the many fantastic prizes.

The refreshments area was really popular again this year, with hot drinks, pop-corn, candy-floss and home-made cakes, many of which had been made by the staff in ‘The Cliffdale Christmas Bake Off’ the day before the fayre!

The school choir, made up of pupils and staff, led by Elizabeth, sang a selection of their favourite Christmas carols and songs, which attracted a huge crowd and made everyone feel very festive indeed!

The Christmas fayre was a huge success, well attended by lots of families past and present, friends and neighbours.  A big thank you to everyone who came to the fayre and helped to raise a profit of just over £1600!  All money raised will go towards our minibus fundraising appeal.
