Cliffdale’s Carol Service once again took place in our favourite church, St Nicholas, right opposite the school. We were joined by lots of our families who came to share our very special celebration and the start to this year’s Christmas festivities.
The choir sang beautifully throughout the service, helping everyone to keep in time with some of our favourite Christmas songs. Some songs were also accompanied by children from other classes on percussion instruments. For some children it was their first ever carol service and Freddie and Ava from Panda Class did a brilliant job on backing the choir with their jingle bells.
Reverend Sam welcomed everyone to the Church and we sang a range of traditional carols mixed with more modern Christmas songs. In between singing each class brought up a box of food which we donated to Portsmouth Foodbank, to help local families in need over Christmas. Jackie Peters joined us again to receive the goods on behalf of the Foodbank and to thank families and staff for their kind generosity.
Reverend Sam said a prayer to bring the service to a close just before the choir led the whole school singing and signing ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas’.
