Children in Need

It was a spotty, stripy, Pudsey fun filled day at Cliffdale today as we all had a great time whilst raising money for the BBC Children in Need appeal. It was also the end of our ‘Friendship Week’, bringing together all of our learning about the importance of friendship and what makes a good friend.

There were lots of activities included for friendship and for Pudsey; arts and crafts, face painting, drama work and biscuit decorating to name but a few.

In Assembly several classes showed some of their brilliant work on friendship which was the result of the whole week’s work on being friends, not bullies.  Hippo class made a friendship flower, whilst Gorilla class made a wonderful friendship tree.  Crocodile class showed us their circle of friends, whilst Tiger class had Superhero Friends and Mollie from Zebra class show us their ‘Friend-Ship’!

We sang songs about friends and friendship and watched a video of one of our pupils Rudi who had been filmed by the BBC for ‘Children in Need’ with his friend Charlie!  We also gave out certificates to the children with the best costumes in each class.

We had the giant Pudsey Bear in the middle of the hall floor and everyone brought in lots of ‘loose change’ to fill up the giant Pudsey with coins; there was lots and lots of coins to collect and count!

A fantastic day was had by all and a brilliant £230 was raised for BBC Children in Need. Well done everyone ~ a really fantastic effort!
