What a fantastic start to the year we have had in Red Class. This year Red Class are a group of seven boys who are all starting ‘big school’ for the first time. We have enjoyed getting to know each other and making relationships with the staff who are here to support us.
Over the first weeks of term we have been learning all about Cliffdale Early Years including finding our way to different parts of the school (such as soft play and the sensory room) using symbols and objects of reference to support us.
The staff in Red Class have been learning about our favourite toys and activities and helping us try new experiences. Elijah followed visual prompts brilliantly whilst making biscuits, Noah especially enjoyed exploring the hammer ball toy and retrieving lost balls from all around the classroom and Alexander likes to carefully look at all the lovely new books.
We have also been learning to follow new routines and practising leaving our favourite activities to complete focussed tasks with the staff. We are working so hard and celebrating with our chosen rewards such as using the trampoline or being spun in the egg chair.
We can’t believe how much fun we have had already. It is going to be a wonderful year!
