A little about myself

I have worked at Cliffdale Primary Academy as an Assistant Headteacher since September 2014, previously having worked in a special School in Southampton. I live locally in Portsmouth and feel very fortunate to be able to cycle into work (weather permitting!) alongside the water’s edge. I love wildlife and my new home gives me the opportunity to enjoy it. I have also a very mischievous puppy called Nelson, who was rescued from Romania, and he loves his walks so it gives me a great excuse to get wet and muddy while we explore the area; he loves Queen Elizabeth Country Park and The Southdown’s.

What excites me about my role

Cliffdale Primary Academy is a fantastic school to work at, I am extremely proud to be able to work amongst staff who are so committed to making school an enjoyable experience for our children. Every day I see our children making progress in their learning and enjoying their time here. My role within the school also involves teaching PE and Outdoor Education. I also coordinate extra-curricular activities, such as J-Rock, this is a fantastic experience for all involved. As well as this, I also organise the Year 5/6 residential and am already looking forward to all the fun that we will have.

While watching the children enjoy their school experience (which is so important to me) it is also crucial that we deliver excellence in our teaching and learning, and my colleagues and I were very proud to have achieved 'Outstanding' in our recent OFSTED.

I am looking forward to the future at Cliffdale, and continuing to educate our children the right way, and having fun at the same time.
