Head of Learning Upper School

A little about myself

I have been teaching in Portsmouth for the last 14 years and have worked at Cliffdale for the last 4. I have tended to specialise in Maths and supporting children with moderate learning difficulties. I have a BA (Hons) in Politics and hold a PGCE in Primary Education. I have completed the Leadership Pathways course and am also a facilitator on the Outstanding Teacher Programme run by Portsmouth Teaching School Alliance. I am also the SEN Lead Teacher for the Solent Maths Hub.

What excites me about my role

As Head of the Upper School, I am able to become more directly involved with the strategic development of the school and work with an amazing, dedicated and talented team. I love that at Cliffdale, every child is treated as an individual and their learning is personalised and motivating! Being a Year 5/6 Teacher, I love seeing how far the children have developed in their social and independent skills, although saying goodbye is always hard at the end of the year!
