A little about myself

I have been teaching for the last 8 years and have worked at Cliffdale for the last 2 years. I am subject lead in Design Technology and support children with autism. I am a Team Teach instructor and deliver training to schools across Portsmouth. I became Head of Lower School a year ago and this role has encouraged me to develop further within my place at Cliffdale. I have a BA (Hons) in Arts and Crafts and gained my teaching qualification on a Graduate Teacher Programme. I continue to enjoy crafts and spend some of my spare time sewing and making greetings cards. I also love to be outdoors, going on long walks with friends and family.

What excites me about my role

Being part of such a dedicated and enthusiastic team, both within my own classroom and the wider school. As Head of the Lower School, I am now involved in more decision making and behind the scene operations. Which is a huge learning curve for me! I love teaching my own class and having a direct impact on the pupils learning and progress. I take a great deal of pleasure in discovering ways that will excite my class, to want to learn more and more each day. I also enjoy teaching and coaching staff, sharing good practise and encouraging others to do the same, this is within the school and beyond.
