Alison Beane
Executive Headteacher

A little about myself

I have been Executive Headteacher of Cliffdale Primary Academy since 2012 and was delighted when Cliffdale joined the Solent Academies Trust, partnering with Mary Rose.  I moved down to Portsmouth from Buckinghamshire and eventually settled on the Isle of Wight.  I love travelling to work each day on the hovercraft.

I am married with three grown up children and I am very lucky to also have 4 lovely grandchildren. Now that I am executive headteacher of 3 schools (Mary Rose, Cliffdale and Redwood Park) I have to be honest that I don’t have too much leisure time.  When I do I enjoy exploring the Island and taking advantage of the beaches and country walks that are so easy to access.  I also decorate celebration cakes and love to cook.

What excites me about my role

I am just so proud and privileged to be the Executive Headteacher of such a wonderful group of schools.  Since Cliffdale joined the Solent Academies Trust we have achieved so much.  We were of course extremely delighted with the results of our Ofsted inspection in November 2016 when were judged to be outstanding.  This confirmed our own judgement and acknowledged the hard work, dedication and determination of the staff team.  Cliffdale Primary Academy is a very special place and I am really proud of the achievements of our pupils and staff supported strongly by our families, carers and the wide range of partners with whom we have such good relationships.  I feel that we are going from strength to strength and that every day is exciting, challenging and fun!  Our pupils tell us that they love coming to school – nearly as much as I do.
