A little about myself
I have worked in the Primary and Secondary education sector for over 12 years working for a private physical education and sport provider based in Hampshire. During this time I have worked in various educational settings and with local authorities providing PE, extra-curricular activities and school holiday activity camps. Starting at the grassroots level on the delivery side I have since progressed to leading the company as Managing Director.
Alongside this, I also sit on the board of ‘UKactive Kids’, an independent national body regulating children’s activity provision and leading the strategy for making children in the UK more active and healthy.
I bring a wealth of experience to the Governing body from these executive roles within the education sector which put children at the fore of their mission.
In addition to my roles within education, I have also served four years as a Special Police Constable with the Metropolitan Police in London. This experience and skills gained further compliment my role as a Governor of the school.
What excites you about your role within the Academy and the Trust?
Having worked in in primary schools for over 12 years it is a sector I enjoy and know very well, but more than that working with children is a passion of mine. Nothing excites me more than engaging and inspiring children in PE, sport and physical activity. I also love working in business and applying my experience and skills to develop and enhance what we do. Being a Governor allows me to combine both passions and make a positive impact on the school, and more importantly each child within it.
